On Cunard’s 180th anniversary year, join Chris Frame on an image packed journey into the past to learn about the transatlantic race that resulted in the construction of the original Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth.

This fast-paced and engaging lecture details how and why the Cunard Queens were built, their impact on Britain’s recovery from the Great Depression and their outstanding military service during World War II. We trace the various links between Southampton, New York and the Queens, their contribution to the boom in tourism and commerce in the 1940s and 1950s, as well as their decline and eventual retirement.

With wonderful historic video of both ships being launched, this lecture can’t be missed!

Cost $3.00. Book online
