In celebration of NAIDOC week, the City of Joondalup is proud to present singer-songwriter Phil Walleystack, a Noongar man raised in Country Western Australia. Phil has traditional connections to Whadjuk, Yued, Ballardong and Wardarndi language groups.
After ten years touring internationally Phil has the ability to connect with every member of the audience with his raw talent and unique style of storytelling and humour. His harmonious mix of melodies enchant and captivate audiences the world over. Phil’s performances are a cultural fusion of traditionally inspired contemporary edge works with western sounds.
Joining Phil is singer-songwriter, Rhys Bedford. Rhys is originally from the small town of Halls Creek. His pursuit of music began in 2017 when he moved from Halls Creek WA to Adelaide SA to complete a Diploma of Music. Rhys has now since returned to Perth where he is currently studying a Bachelor of Music at the WAAPA. Rhys’s honest song writing takes you on a journey through his early experiences in life. His folk pop style matched with his soft yet soulful tone draw comparisons to his early influences Ed Sheeran, John Mayer and Jack Johnson.
