Age-Friendly Business Training: Attract and retain older customers

Learn how to engage and better serve the local 65+ market, which is set to increase by 10,000 people every five years (in the Joondalup local government area) until 2044.

Age-friendly environments help businesses attract, engage and retain older adults as customers by considering the age-friendly features of their business.

This package includes an online diagnostic tool, thought provoking and interactive training session and follow up. It will provide businesses with the materials and assistance to identify, promote and improve their age-friendly features; by making low and no-cost changes to ensure everyone can enjoy access to a variety of goods and services, regardless of their age. Many of these changes will also be of benefit to attracting customers living with a disability.

The session will cover a range of areas including:

  • Marketing
  • Customer service
  • Ambience
  • Safety, comfort, and visibility.

The City’s Economic Development Lead will provide an overview of City’s business development programs.

This one hour training workshop will be followed by an optional networking session with refreshments.

Fostering inclusive businesses for seniors is a strategy within the City of Joondalup’s Age-Friendly Plan, which has been developed with the World Health Organisation’s Age-Friendly Cities Framework.
