The City of Joondalup is offering young people aged 11 - 18 years the opportunity to learn cooking skills and the importance of nutrition. The program will be delivered by local ECU nutrition students and professional chefs.
Spots are limited.
Young people will:
- Create nutritional and delicious food
- Learn new skills including baking and cake decorating
- Learn about fun food you can recreate at home including pizza and pasta.
The program includes:
- Learning basic nutrition
- How to prepare a quick and healthy meal
- Pizza making fundamentals
- Pasta making
- Cake baking
- Cake decorating.
Nutrition is an important part of a balance healthy lifestyle and promotes positive mental health. The six week program aims to deliver hands on fundamental cooking skills and knowledge on nutrition to make better, healthier life style choices without missing out on yummy food.
The first two workshops will be located at ECU. The remaining workshops will be located at Anchors Youth Centre. Please note dates and locations listed below.

Registration, Entry Requirements and What to Bring
Step 1 – BEFORE COMPLETING THE REGISTRATION FORM BELOW: Ensure the participant is within the age range specified above prior to following the payment process. You will not be refunded if you incorrectly book for the wrong age.
Step 2 – Make sure the participant has completed the Youth Services Membership Form before completing the form below. Please state any food related allergies.
Step 3 – After registering, you will receive a confirmation email. Your ticket - can be physically printed or displayed on a smart phone on arrival.
A program will only be cancelled if there are insufficient enrolments received one day prior to the event or due to factors beyond the City’s control. In the event of cancellations relating to weather, safety or unforeseen circumstances, fees may not be refundable.
There will be no refunds issued for non-attendance unless the City is advised two full working days prior to the activity date along with presentation of a medical certificate. Please note: refunds may take up to eight weeks to be processed. No other credits can be given.
Please keep in mind that activities may be subject to change due to the availability of suppliers, venues, and COVID social distancing restrictions. Every effort will be made to inform participants and caregivers if changes were to occur.
