Every skipper of a recreational vessel powered by a motor greater than 4.5kwp (6hp) is required to hold a Recreational Skipper’s Ticket.

Recreational Skippers Ticket RST Perth Course

The RST is a qualification based on a set of national marine safety competencies that a skipper must demonstrate. The RST will ensure that the people in charge of recreational vessels have the minimum skills and knowledge to protect themselves, their passengers, and to share the waterways safely with others.

This RST course has a classroom theory component and practical on water skills. Students will learn the basic power boat handling skills, compulsory safety equipment, weather forecasting, collision regulations, vessel knowledge and basic navigation. The course incorporates the theory and practical assessments for the Department of Transport Recreational Skippers Ticket.

The cost is Non-Members: $260.00, Hillarys Yacht Club Members: $230.00.
